Easter

We started our Easter celebrations off at my parents' house. The girls hunted for eggs and then got Easter baskets from Grandma and Grandpa.

We can't control the hair.

On Saturday we dyed Easter eggs.

Paige helps by staying out of the way!

Sunday morning the girls woke up to more egg hunting and Easter baskets!

Nice Christmas PJs, Maris.

Sunday afternoon we headed over to Johnny's family get together.  Of course, there was more egg hunting and fun hanging out with cousins.

All the Hughes cousins.  Jason (black shirt), 28, is the oldest and Paige is the youngest!

When we got home that night the girls were whooped.  I realized I hadn't really gotten good head to toe shots of their Easter outfits.  Let me share that it was not a great time to attempt those photos but we tried anyway.  Hilarity ensued.

Water

As I said, Mother Nature blessed us with some gorgeous weather this March.  We cleaned off the porch and pulled out Paige's new water table.  They both had fun.  It's a great toy that they can enjoy together but still play on their own level.  For example, Maris filled one side of the table higher and higher until she could float the boat down the ramp.  Paige filled bowl after bowl and dumped them on her feet.  To each their own!

Playing nicely together.

Too fun to look away!

Funniest face ever?

The weather has returned to more normal temperatures.  As soon as it gets warm again, I know the girls are going to be thrilled to get back out there.  Thank you again, Uncle Dan and Aunt Vicki!

March Randomness

We have had gorgeous weather this month.  There was as stretch of 4 days where it was 80+ degrees.  In the middle of March.  In Cleveland.  It was amazing.  We spent a lot of time outside.  The girls were able to play with Paige's new water table (thanks Uncle Dan and Aunt Vicki!).  And most important to me, Paige was able to wear some of my favorite warm weather outfits from when Maris was smaller.  They were just perfect, so I know they won't fit in a couple months when the weather gets warm for real.

We were invited to the first birthday party of one of Paige's future BFFs.  Unfortunately, our heat decided to go out that day (before the heat wave, naturally!) so Johnny and Paige had to miss the party.  Maris was thrilled with the clown at the party who not only did a little magic show, but was a talented face painter.

It's been 20+ days since the party and we still find glitter in her hair at bath time!

I spent some time going through the girls' old clothes.  I was trying to condense, but I just don't have the heart to give any of it away yet.  Instead, I sorted it all and packed it up.  I hope to make a quilt with it all someday.

Newborn - 3T, except it doesn't even include the full wardrobes currently in each of their rooms.
Two tiny people should not have this many clothes.

The birthday gift we bought for Paige finally arrived.  Wahoo Puppy (on the left) is great fun if she's being monitored.  Otherwise, it really is for slightly older kids.  Paige tends to tip right over his head and face plant onto the floor.  Maris has no qualms about using it until Paige is big enough.

The rocking cow is much more her speed.

Speaking of birthdays, Johnny celebrated his birthday in March.  The girls and I made him a back rub shirt.  It was a great idea and very easy!  I'll put the directions up on A League Of Her Own when I get some time. Johnny also wanted a bike which we got for him as well.  Happy Birthday, Johnny/Daddy!!

St. Patrick's Day

When we woke up on St. Patrick's Day, our toilet water was green.  Those tricky leprechauns!

We visited Grandma and Grandpa C for dinner.  They always make a traditional corned beef, cabbage, and mashed potato dinner.  It was so delicious.  Writing about it now is making me hungry for next year!  We were responsible for the dessert.  I found a few minty, green recipes and finally settled on this one.

Triple Layer Fudgy Mint Oreo Brownies

I would love to tell you for your waistline's sake that these were terrible and you should never ever make them.  I would be lying.  They were every bit as glorious as they look.  Go to the store to get ingredients.  Today.  Right now.  The cool mint Oreos might not be in stock much longer this year and I'd hate for you to miss out.

Taking posed photos is more and more fun each time we try.  Sarcasm.  Paige wants to be moving every moment of the day.  So, naturally, she has no time to sit still for pictures.

A glimpse into my future with teenage daughters

This year's St. Patrick's Day photo with Erie in her lucky shirt.  No one is smiling.  At least they are all looking at the camera.

2012
We did much better in 2011!

Finally, some smiles!!  I was not about to jinx this by attempting to get in the picture myself.  You'll have to trust me that I was wearing green.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
