P365: Day 150

May 30, 2010

It was parked on the trailer in the driveway but at least she has the right idea!

P365: Day 149

May 29, 2010

Today was a BIG day!!!

After two years and 21 lbs, Maris is finally old enough and big enough to face forward in the car.

She LOVES it! We went for a ride in the morning and the first thing she said when she got up from nap was, "Go ride in Dada's car, more?"

I can't be sure, but in the pic, I think she was saying - This is awesome! Stop taking pictures and get in the car and drive, Woman!

P365: Day 148

May 28, 2010

Ugh! Didn't even realize I didn't take a picture on this day. Actually, I'm so busy lately, I'm lucky it was only the one day!!

P365: Day 147

May 27, 2010

Goodbye, forever, Dear Friend.

Warm weather let us try out Maris's pool for the first time!

P365: Day 145

May 25, 2010

This is pretty much how our days go. If we aren't outside, she's begging me to take her there!

P365: Day 144

May 24, 2010

Looks like you shouldn't mess with the lunch lady.

P365: Day 143

May 23, 2010

We were at a fun little get together for Maris's Great Great Aunt!

P365: Day 142

Waiting for Daddy, who ran into the grocery store.

P365: Day 140

May 20, 2010

She was definitely NOT cutting straight lines. :) She loved this thing. She went through a whole can of bubble solution. I don't think she's ever played this long/consecutively with one toy.

P365: Day 139

May 19, 2010

Today we went to a free class at our library called "Let's Sing and Dance!" I thought it would be a blast. Maris normally LOVES dancing and singing.
Here's how she spent most of the class.

"Hoooold you* Mama! Hoooold you!"

*She has her pronouns a little mixed up and sometimes** refers to herself as "you."

**Always

P365: Day 138

May 18, 2010

Okay, so the last camera didn't work out. We didn't feel like it ever took a decent picture inside. So this is my new, NEW camera. :)

It's teeny.

P365: Day 137

May 17, 2010

Are you talking to me?

Are YOU talking to ME?

P365: Day 136

May 16, 2010

One of Maris's Grandmas got her this stroller for her birthday. It also came with a pack 'n play, bassinet carrier, and diaper bag. Very fun.

P365: Day 135

May 15, 2010

Maris's Polka Dot Party was a huge success. I wonder if I could do that theme every year. I loved it!

Maris enjoyed spending time with her family and testing out some of her fun gifts - a new swimming pool and fun hat!

P365: Day 134

May 14, 2010

Maris's birthday party is tomorrow. We were preparing and cleaning all day. I couldn't even find the camera today let alone find something interesting to take a picture of!

P365: Day 133

May 13, 2010

Happy 2nd Birthday, Maris!

Every month in her first year, we took a picture with Mickey. Seemed fitting to continue the tradition at each year mark.

P365: Day 132

May 12, 2010

Laying on the kitchen floor, twirling her hair, and cuddling a roll of paper towels. Who knows. :)

Also:

Dear Tomorrow,
We are ignoring you. There is no way my baby girl is turning two. None. It's not possible. You understand. See you on Friday.
Best Regards,
Kupe

P365: Day 131

May 11, 2010

I don't think this needs explanation, except... blueberries at breakfast.

P365: Day 130

May 10, 2010

Maris left this for us when she went to bed.

Who needs to spend $100 on Elmo Live tickets? We've got Elmo, live right here in our basement!

P365: Day 129

May 9, 2010

Happy Mother's Day to Mom/Grandma Molly!

We would also like to wish a Happy Mother's Day to our Grandma Great, Grandma Jan, all our aunts, sisters, cousins, and friends. You have the hardest job in the world. We hope you enjoyed your day!

P365: Day 128

Happy (early) Mother's Day to Mom/Grandma Frances!

P365: Day 127

May 7, 2010

Step two of our Mother's Day projects.

P365: Day 126

May 6, 2010

Step one in our Mother's Day projects.

My husband is so crafty. If I had done this step, my arms, clothes, and the grass would have been white and the pots wouldn't have looked nearly as nice!

P365: Day 125

May 5, 2010

Can dogs give the stink eye?

P365: Day 124

May 4, 2010

Do you remember "flying" as a child? I think it would be awesome if adults flung each other around the way we do a child. How free they must feel. I know my girl loves it. Maris gives it everything she's got when Daddy swoops her up and she takes flight.

Haha. I just noticed the grass makes it look like something strange is going on with my husband's legs. There's a dry creek bed at the back of our yard, which separates our lawn from the park. I'm sure going down and up the ditch walls made flying all the more fun!

P365: Day 123

May 3, 2010

Wooo... that bowling party wore me out. I apologize (to all 5 people who are stilling following this blog) for not posting daily.

Today we had our first outdoor dinner of the year. We love the nice weather!

P365: Day 122

May 2, 2010

We are part of a wonderful playgroup. We met weeks after the babies were born at nursing support clinic for new moms. Everyone attended the others' first birthday parties over the course of the spring months last year, but we thought it would be more fun and cost effective to just have a party for group this year. One mom suggested bowling. I was leery at first but it was so fun!! There was no way to choose one photo from today.

Here is Maris and her buddy, Nate, checking out what this bowling thing is all about.

Maris takes her first shot!

I think she liked it! Waiting at the ball return for her second attempt.

And here she goes. She's taking this very seriously.

Which apparently paid off because...

Two spares on her first two turns! She's a bowling rockstar!

Okay Maris, now you're just getting a big head. Watch your shot.

All the kids lined up (kind of) for a group photo.

Interested in the final score? PBA here we come!!!

Lastly, remember those mysterious ingredients from a couple days ago? They turned into this.

It was a fabulous fun day.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Maris and her boys!

P365: Day 121

May 1, 2010

My parents had us over for dinner and to watch the Kentucky Derby. We all drew a horse's name out of the bowl and cheered that horse on. Maris was watching for her horse, Mission Impazible, while she cheered and clapped!

My horse was Ice Box who came in second so I guess I was the winner at our little Derby Party.
