P365: Day 162

June 11, 2010

Nothing exciting going on, so I slip right back into my habit of forgetting to take the pictures! Thank goodness for Johnny. He noticed how clear and beautiful the stars and sky were and snapped a few shots.

The neighbor's had their trees trimmed today. It was probably the best day it could have happened. We were exhausted from our trip and had a nice time sitting on the porch ALL DAY watching them work. The piles of branches went all the way down the driveway to the street. It probably was complicated by both my husband and the neighbor on the other side asking to have some work done in our yards as well. I can't believe they got it all done!

Heading home.

This is Maris's first official airplane picture, since I was a bad mother and didn't take one on the way there. Oops!

She was a trip. Any time the plane caused her to feel G forces (which she really doesn't like) she'd cry and say, "Baby falling. Baby falling doooown!" And when we landed in Cleveland, she loudly proclaimed, "I made it! I made it!" At least the passengers around her had a good laugh.

Overall, she wasn't a fan. I think we'll stick to car travel for a few years.

P365: Day 159

June 8, 2010

Last day in Colorado! We visited Pearl St. in Boulder for some shopping and playing on more giant wildlife statues.

P365: Day 158

June 7, 2010

Knock another baseball stadium off the list. Coors Field in Colorado makes #9 for Sarah, #6 for Johnny, and #3 for Maris. I think she's doing the best of all of us considering her age!

The Rockies won 5-1 against the Houston Astros.

P365: Day 157

June 7, 2010

You'll have to excuse us while we stare at the elephants. Our Cleveland elephants are away visiting other zoos while their habitat gets an Extreme Home Makeover (seriously). It will be a couple more years until we see them, so this was a treat!

P365: Day 156

June 5, 2010

Estes Park. We saw deer, big horn sheep, prairie dogs, and elk. No moose. We really wanted to see a moose. Maris also got to stand in the snow again, which thrills her each time!

P365: Day 155

June 4, 2010

We took Maris to the Denver Children's Museum. I've admittedly never been to the Cleveland Children's Museum, but my brother seemed to think Denver's was phenomenal by comparison. Maris had a blast with a full sized firetruck, giant legos, bubbles, child sized shopping area and many other activities!

They also had a lovely outdoor play space.

Johnny and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary today as well. Dan and Vicki took Maris to a street festival while we had a nice dinner out.

P365: Day 154

June 3, 2010

We headed up Mt. Evans on our next day in CO. Elevation is 14,000+ feet. At the bottom it was in the high 70s. At the top, 8 degrees!!! The minute Maris saw the snow, she wanted to step on it. She loved it!

And a second picture, just because I think it's a good one. We're back down near the bottom of the mountain here.

P365: Day 153

June 2, 2010

Our first full day in Colorado! We spent the morning at the parks within walking distance to my brother's apartment while he slept. (He works 6pm -6am). After both he and Maris napped we headed up to see Buffalo Bill's grave, an historic mansion, and some of the crazy large homes in Evergreen, CO. As you can see, Colorado has many fabulous wildlife statues.

Okay, not quite. First I have to show what we found while making sure all perishable foods were thrown away.

Tip: Do not misplace a bag of potatoes for any length of time, lest you end up with something like this!

P365: Day 151

May 31, 2010

The only time this room is this clean is when we are leaving for vacation. Which incidentally, is why I'm so behind. I wanted to post daily pictures of our trip. However, I'm a worrywart and didn't want the Internet to know we were away.

So, without further ado... Colorado.
