P365: Day 118

April 28, 2010

Helping Cousin Katelyn celebrate her birthday.

(We're still working with the new camera. I have no idea why people keep coming out looking like wax figures.)

P365: Day 117

April 27, 2010

Maris was very happy to be taking a walk, despite the chilly April weather.

P365: Day 116

April 26, 2010

Uh-oh. This face does not bode well for future siblings.

I'm kidding. She actually really liked her.

She did!

See?

This is Baby Aubrey. Congrats to the Miller family. She's adorable!

P365: Day 115

April 25, 2010

This dog longs... LONGS to be outside.

P365: Day 111

April 21, 2010

This is my new oven. It has a clock, a timer, 5 burners - a griddle burner, a simmer burner, and a power burner, and an actual operating broiler drawer. I know that was a lot to ask. It is beautiful. I pretty much fell in love as soon as I saw it.

Then we baked.

And everything came out lopsided.

Oh, they leveled it when they delivered the stove. My husband was standing right there. When the first cake came out we thought it was operator error (not this operator, btw). It looked like the batter had been sloshed to the right of the pan and then stayed there. The next one was the same way. Johnny still wasn't convinced there was anything wrong 4 cakes later. I pulled out the level and measured the stove top and the racks inside. Lo and behold the stove top is level, the racks and the inside of the oven are not.

Sears is delivering a new stove tomorrow.

P365: Day 110

April 20, 2010

These two love their forts. I love that Johnny always takes a book in and that Maris's favorite part of the fort is reading inside it!

P365: Day 109

April 19, 2010

We take walks now and all of us are walking. It's fun. Maris sees things I would never notice!

P365: Day 108

April 18, 2010

Sometimes (like on days after they stayed up 2.5 hours past their bedtime) you pick your battles carefully. She wore what she wanted today.

P365: Day 107

April 17, 2010

The final surprise of the week was my mom's surprise birthday party. Maris is enjoying the fun (or not?) with Auntie Peggy and Great Grandma C.

P365: Day 106

April 16, 2010

It was hard to feel happy after yesterday but when my boyfriend showed up on TV, I couldn't help but smile a little.

Rainbow Bridge
Author unknown

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

She does windows too.

P365: Day 103

April 13, 2010

Great day!
Maris turned 23 months old. (I'm sorry, what??!!!)
Another new episode of the The Greatest Show Ever On TV.... LOST.
Glee came back on air.

But the best thing of all:

My brother and his fiance standing in our basement, fresh off the plane from CO at 11:30 at night. They are here to surprise my mom for her birthday. Greatest surprise ever? Possibly.

Happy Opening Day!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today should be a national holiday. Opening Day! Go Tribe. You'll get 'em next time.

P365: Day 101

April 11, 2010

My mom's birthday is tomorrow. We had her and my dad over for dinner and cake. Maris helped her blow out the candles, practicing for her own birthday next month!

100 Days of Pictures!

April 10, 2010

Maris helped bake Grandma's birthday cake tonight. She enjoyed licking the lemon batter off the beater! Which, despite what her guilty expression might suggest, she was allowed to do.

I call this photo series:

The Tongue.

Uncle Dan, are you reading this? It's your fault. ;-p

P365: Day 98

April 8, 2010

Sorry. This is not a great angle, but I had to document Maris's first fort.

P365: Day 97

April 7, 2010

The new camera is shiny, sparkly, and red. Even if it never takes a good picture (it better. 12.2 mp, do you see that?) it's sure pretty to look at!

P365: Day 96

April 6, 2010

My new camera came today. We had just enough time after it finished the initial charge to take a few shots before bed. I'll be able to fiddle around with it in the next couple days. I'm excited to have a compact Diaper Bag Camera!

Monday, April 5, 2010

P365: Day 95

April 5, 2010

I'm pretty sure this moment made my husband more proud than any other thus far.

Incidentally, TODAY is the first day of Spring (at our house). It's Opening Day! We celebrated by wearing our Tribe gear and watching the game. However, the game wasn't worth watching and they lost. Bad. So we'll take our Tribe Time picture on the day of the Home Opener! Stay tuned.

HAPPY EASTER!

Too much Easter candy for this little girl. Getting ready to fall asleep on the coffee table.
And a tiny peak at dress #2 - lime green with ladybugs (what else?)

P365: Day 93

April 3, 2010

Today we had Easter with my family. Maris wore a dress that was mine when I was little. It is still cute in my opinion!

P365: Day 92

April 2, 2010

We are having a bit of a heat wave. Last night when I tucked Maris in as I went to bed, she was sweating something fierce. I bought her some new spring jammies today so she'd have something to wear until it cools off again.

She was more than a little excited. When I put them on her at bedtime she jumped up and danced around a little shouting, "Fancy! Fancy!"
